This Week
In the recent months, there has been an incredible and frighteneing increase of violence, and atrocities done to Dalits in India under the present BJP government. As a result, and in response, there has been a powerful surge in protest and human rights movements, calling those in power to be accountable to the Dalit community, and to neither allow nor encourage such inhuman violence and persecution. Join our special guest, Rev. Chakravarthy Zadda, Ph.D., who will be returning to India in October to organize Dalit Empowerment Workshops for clergy and lay leaders, building solidarity among the Indian Christian community for the Cause. Learn more at Rev. Chaks' facebook page here. He'll be preaching at Sunday worship, 10:30, and leading a discussion after church, 12-12:30. Don't miss this! Consideration of and care for those in need (especially those “at our gate,” visible to us, of whom we are aware) is an essential component of good stewardship. It is in the sharing of wealth that we avoid the snare of wealth. It is the one whom death could not hold—who comes to us risen from the dead—who can free us from the death grip of greed.
