E-News

All Are Welcome!

This Week

In today’s gospel the risen Christ ascends into heaven and his followers are assured that the Spirit will empower them to be witnesses throughout the earth. The disciples were told to not gaze up into heaven to look for Jesus; we find his presence among us as we proclaim the word and share the Easter feast. We too long for the Spirit to enliven our faith and invigorate our mission.

We will also be saying goodbye to Ambria this Sunday.  She is embarking on an exciting internship!

And, after worship, please join us for a potluck brunch and discussion about moms.

Readings: Acts 1:1-11, Psalm 47, Ephesians, Luke 24:44-53
Money Matters
Last week we received a very generous gift of $2000 from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and a $3000 check from Concordia Cemetery.  Thanks be to God!

While these donations and the offerings that we receive every week are a great blessing in helping us to further our mission, we are still facing serious financial challenges this year.  If you have considered regular online giving and need help setting it up, please schedule a time with Rene and we will help you get set up!

Moral Mondays IL
Monday - May 9, Noon at Federal Plaza,  Adams & Dearborn  Talk to Pastor Tom or Toby if you are interested in participating.  There will be a bus leaving from First Trinity shortly after 11 am.  Breakfast and coffee provided.

White Sox Raffle
We are raffling off 2 seats for the Sox -vs- Royals game on Friday, May 20, 7:10 start time. They are in section 512, row 2, seats 1&2. Regular price with fees and whatnot would make these about $47. These are just ok seats for the game, but they are AMAZING seats for the FIREWORKS!
How do you get in on this most incredible raffle? Make a donation to the First Trinity Kid's Camp Fund! Every donation of $3 or more is entered into the raffle, to be drawn after worship on Sunday, May 15.
So, you not only get entered for the chance to win the tickets, but you get to help some awesome kids go to camp this summer!
Make a donation online at goo.gl/wJEOBP or in person during God's Closet or after Worship on Sunday  (see Rene) Thanks and good luck!
